Washington D.C.

This last week we went on a trip down to Maryland and Virginia to visit family. We first went to visit my triplet sister Rebecca, my older sister Jessica and Jessica's husband Ryan. We got down to Maryland on Saturday. The drive was uneventful which was great. We just hung out with them Saturday night. Rebecca, Jessica and I decided to try to sew some skirts so we went to Joann Fabrics to pick out a pattern and fabric. We worked on the skirts during the weekend but haven't finished them. So we'll see how it turns out.

On Monday we went to D.C. on the Metro and walked around the mall. Justin had never been to D.C. so we saw most of the memorials until we were caught in the rain. It started pouring while we were looking at the Korean War Memorial so we had to almost run back to the Lincoln Memorial for cover. It kept raining so we finally decided to just walk back in the rain to the Metro to go back to the apartment. Jack was the only one who wasn't soaked when we got back!

On Tuesday we went back to D.C. and went to some of the Simthsonians. We went to the Natural History Museum first to see a new butterfly exhibit. It was a butterfly habitat that you could walk through and see all the butterflies flying around. It was really cool. One butterfly landed on Jack, right on his forehead. He didn't like it but we were able to get a picture. The same butterfly landed on Justin's head and it wouldn't get off!

On Wednesday we went and visited my sisters' classrooms. They both teach Pre-Kindergarten. Their students were so cute. They are only four years old and they were so excited that we came in especially Jack. After we visited we drove to Virginia and on the way we stopped at the D.C. temple. It is so beautiful. We walked around the visitor's center. We really wanted to do a session but we can't leave Jack that long.

We were in Virginia for Wednesday and Thursday visiting Justin's Uncle, Aunt and cousins. His cousins, Claire, who is 8 years old, was a little confused on how Justin could be her cousin when he was so much older than her!! Melissa, who is five years old, kept trying to find toys to let Jack play with. It was really cute. We had a good time with them.

We were going to leave on Friday morning but there was a storm moving in that was supposed to start Friday morning all the way up the coast to Connecticut so we decided to drive back Thursday night and hopefully beat the storm. All was going good till we hit traffic in Maryland! We were at a crawl for an hour! We finally got moving again but then took a wrong turn. We were going the right way but a little longer route. Then we got stuck in another traffic jam where we were at a stand still for an hour!! It took us over 10 hours to make a 6-7 hour drive!! It was not fun. I got to sleep a little but Justin drove the whole way. Justin slept almost all day on Friday. It was still a great trip but we're not planning on taking a trip like that for a while!

Here are some more pictures of Jack being his cute self!! (Jessica took most of the pictures with her cool new camera)

Cute pictures of Jack... I especially like the one with the butterfly on his head and the one of him on the metro.
