On July 16th we went to Yellowstone with my sister Jessica and her husband Ryan and Justin's sister Jessica and his brother Josh. We decided to see the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. We stopped in several places where you can see the falls. It was a beautiful site to see looking down into the canyon. We also saw some geysers and three bison. We were surprised that we only saw three when usually we see them in large herds. As we drove in there was a bald eagle's nest but it was empty. Jack was good for the whole trip. Jessica (Ashley's sister) was excited to see Jack again and loved holding him when he didn't want to be in his stroller anymore.
On Saturday we had a birthday party for Jack. Justin's dad decided to celebrate my birthday and Justin's birthday so we had three cakes! Justin's brother Lucas, his wife Annelise and their daughter Livy came for dinner and then his aunts, uncle, cousins and Grandpa Boyle and his wife came for cake and ice cream. We gave Jack a piece of cake and he loved the frosting! He had it all over his face and started to rub it all over his head. He had a lot of fun at his party and got some cool presents.
Today Jack got to ride his first horse with Grandpa McDermott. Jack wasn't sure about the big animal he was sitting on but he let Grandpa ride around for a little while. Justin and I then got on the horse together and rode around. We couldn't go that long because we were squished together on the saddle but it was fun. Grandpa was excited to be able to take Jack on the horse and wants to make sure that Jack doesn't become too much of a "city" boy!

WOW!! He is 1! He is growing fast!! Glad he had fun in Yellowstone and On His birthday and riding the horse with his grandpa!
Thats cute him riding the horse.. my parents use to do that with us when we were little but instead of a horse it was a tractor.. haha! looks like you guys had fun!
