Fun Adventures in Idaho

So we haven't written a blog in awhile so this might be a long one. Justin is going to write this one.
We had a great 4th of July weekend. We watched the Rigby fireworks which they shot of from Rigby lake from the yard of my Dad's house on the 3rd. It was nice because we were able to put Jack down for the night and enjoy the fireworks without having to go anywhere.

On the 4th of July, we had a BBQ with my family. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, spinach salad, and lots of other delicious sides and desserts. Lucas, Annelise, and Olivia came up from Pocatello. Jack and Olivia had more fun times playing together. Josh’s friend Tyson was also visiting from St. George, UT and my Dad’s girlfriend, Barbara came over.



On July 6th, we saw my friend’s Marshall and Tiffany and their sons Chandler and Rowan. All the boys were playing together.

We went up to Mesa Falls on July 9th. It was really pretty. You are able to walk right up close to the falls on a platform. Jack was mesmerized by the sounds of the waterfalls and kept looking over at them when we were trying to get him to look at the camera for pictures. We got postcards and sent them to Ashley's parents and Grandparents. They also had a little gift shop/museum where we got to see a whole bunch of animal hides, bones, and hooves. (Gross I know.)


On July 10th, we went to a BBQ at our friend JT and his wife's house. Nathan and Heather were there too as well as the Broadbent's and their little girl. We had some sweet boat races. We would float sticks and weeds down the little canal in front of JT and Marissa's house and see whose would win. I used to always have races with my siblings at my Grandpa and Grandma McDermott's house when I was younger. The races were surprisingly really entertaining.

On July 12th, we went to Preston, Idaho so Jack could meet his Great Grandma McDermott who is in the nursing home there. She was really tired but we got her to wake up and talk to us for a little while. When Grandma McDermott first saw Jack she smiled and laughed. She just kept saying that Jack was a cute little boy. We kept trying to get Jack to give her kisses. She gave him a few kisses it was really sweet. The one time she gave him a kiss right on the lips and said "He is a cute little boy. That was wet." It is kind of sad that Grandma McDermott has Alzheimer’s and doesn't remember much but it was really neat to see how much she could still show her love and kindness to our sweet little Jack Jack. We also visited my Dad's sister Marilyn and her husband Dick in Preston. Their Grandson Dallin who is just getting ready to go on a mission was there too.

After Preston we met up with my Aunt Tammy and Uncle John in Brigham City so we could go to the Real Salt Lake professional soccer game. Real Salt Lake won 2-0 it was a really good game. We were sitting right behind on goal and got to see the first goal right in front of us.



Yesterday, we went to Idaho Falls with Josh and Jessica. We ate lunch at Fazoli's and we all ate like a hundred breadsticks. After lunch we went to the zoo. Jack really liked the primate exhibit. The zoo was fun. It actually has quite a few animals even though it is small. My Dad met up with us after work and came through the zoo with us too.



I can't believe we have been out in Idaho for three weeks already. We fly back to Connecticut next Tuesday. Man the summer is flying by!
